The end of studies project Ecological and Innovative Carrousel (MEI) consists of the realization of a technical study for the Caméléon Manèges Company, under the privileged partnership.
The point is to make a study of the realization of an ecological and innovative carrousel, through an innovative approach by the company. This study has to answer to the main issue of the global optimization of the electrical consumption and has to include the disposal on the carrousel of renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic panels or wind turbines. The carrousel we realized has the particularity to have a fixed roof, and only have a drilled in the center tray to make turn. On this tray are disposed twenty figurines in the effigy of Cuvier’s discoveries, including twelve of these figurines are moving, meaning that they are going up and down.
The technical study therefore focused on all points that can optimize the energy consumption of the ride. There is therefore a study of the energy needs, and the response to those needs through renewable energy sources (such as solar, wind or participatory means of electricity production), which can have a ride on independently as possible. The choice of materials for the manufacture of the plate is also studied so that the weight of the tray is as optimized as possible, the choice of materials also focused on their environmental behavior to extend the ecological behavior of the ride up in the choice of materials. The study also focuses on interactive media, such as screens or touch pads, located on the arena and the surrounding area. The study also addresses the mechanism of rotation, which is optimized to minimize energy losses in friction, as well as ways of moving figurines.
We then move to the preliminary implementation of the model and to achieve the latter. We also had the opportunity to create synergy on this project involving the promotion of ING4 in our PFE realizing the subject of their PT and performing monitoring it.
