Shar3D wants to give everyone the opportunity to express their personality through the object that’s surround them thanks to 3D printing.
Some speak of the 3rd industrial revolution, one as important as is Internet and multimedia. Although 3D printing seems complicated and out of reach, it will enable enormous changes in our lives, and substantial progress in all fields (medicine, decoration, food, fashion, design, engineering, manufacturing, etc..).
We already saw the birth of the first 3D printed heart, or the first pizza out of a 3D printer. Three-dimensional printing allows an infinity of creations and it docks wonderfully in our era – where it’s important to stand out. Everyone expresses his mood through social networks. There is a lot of different clothing styles and soon people will be able to customize their environment through unique printed objects.
It is in this dynamic Shar3D wants to register: to give everyone the opportunity to express their personality through the object that’s surround them.
3D printing is now mostly used by professionals, but still little known to the general public. Shar3D has the desire to make this technology available. With a platform linking the various actors of 3D printing – which are:
- Those who have the expertise to create 3D models (CAD Designers)
- Those consuming theses 3D models or the owners of a 3D printer,
- Those with a desire to own a different and new kind of object that can meet their needs.
Therefore, Shar3D’s platform connect all these users whether professionals or individuals and thus to enroll in redefining conventional methods of distributions. Shar3D also proposes to promote, to monetize, to customize and to 3D print its models, all with the simplicity of social networks.
Currently in the market, it is possible to find a 3D printer owner individual (3D Hubs) or professional (Sculpteo, Shapeways), to find a 3D numeric file (Thingiverse), to get in contact with a professional CAD Designer, etc. The user experience remains tedious (multiple services) and prices unattractive (professional services are still expensive). Shar3D differentiated from both major players by its unique offering that links users and CAD designers and minor players by the monetization of 3D models.
For each transaction made on Shar3D’s platform, whether it is a purchase, an order, or a 3D print, we get a commission. We also service the warranty in the form of “freemium” accounts; it’s possible to get more services at a low cost. To achieve our goals, we insist on our differentiation’s strategy which insist on the specific link between CAD designers and users but also on a tripartite benefit strategy: on one hand the 3D model makers is gaining money and expertise, the customer gets what he/she was looking for or a customized mode, and finally, we take a commission. In terms of our overall strategy, initially we expect to enter the local market in order to build our reputation – thanks to the help of a strong network of local partners and sponsors. Then, we will consolidate our local presence and begin to grow internationally through new local and international partnerships. Market international expansion will allow us to reach new customers and thus diversify our services. In order to capitalize the company Shar3D, we will invest with our personal contributions. Wi will later make a request for the JEI status and to become a candidate and beneficiary of the Innovation Tax Credit (to improve our service and develop features that complement it). Today we have a need for support in starting a business, guidance in our strategic choices and finally an environment conducive to the development of Shar3D.
