The Genius heat project concerns a system of heating management with the view to save the maximum of energy during the absence periods, while guaranteeing thermal comfort during the presence periods.
The steering of the set point is based on the user position relative to his reference rooms (office or home for example), his entry/exit habits recorded by the system, as his rooms heating and cooling times of the rooms.
One application running on each user smartphone allows the localization, avoiding the use of presence sensors which are expensive and bulky.
In case of next user departure from his office, the system is able to determine, without any intervention of the user, if the absence would be a short absence (without any impact on the heating) or if the absence would be a long absence (with an impact on the heating). The system will pre-empt the next user departure by decreasing barely the room temperature, then it will order the decrease or the stop of the heating at the effective user departure. Thanks to the knowledge of the user habits and his position relative to his reference rooms, the system is able to foresee the return and to anticipate the increase of the heating at the appropriate moment.
